Two Finger Banjo Book
In this spiral-bound book, old-time banjo teacher Matt Brown shares forty six arrangements in the thumb lead, two-finger banjo style. Six of the tunes are presented at two difficulty levels. Ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced, the repertoire ranges from jam favorites to rare showpieces. This collection is an excellent resource for learning the two-finger style at home, whether studying with a teacher like Matt or figuring it out yourself. Chord suggestions are included where appropriate. This book highlights Matt’s transcriptions of Kentucky banjoists Roscoe Holcomb, Granville Bowlin, Lee Sexton, and Morgan Sexton. He also shares his tablature for Benton Flippen’s “June Apple” and Paul Brown’s “Cacklin’ Hen.” Audio recordings of each tune are available for free on twofingerbanjo.com.
